Design Report

Almost everyone loves to dance. This also applies to people with dementia, who enjoy dancing and listening to music just as much. However, especially in the later stages of dementia, people often suffer from physical disabilities. That's why we have designed the JeKa JoKa Dancing Chair. It has wheels and speakers so that it can move around freely and play music from the chair itself. The chair can be connected to any device via Bluetooth. The person with dementia can choose the music and sit comfortably in the chair. A caregiver or family member can then stand in front of the chair and start guiding it. This would be done by holding the hands of the person in the chair. The music motivates people to start dancing so they can move their arms and move around in circles. This way, physically disabled dementia patients can experience what it's like to dance again.
